Blog Closure.
I've sold Vince as of Saturday 4th April, to a nice man from Teeside. Hopefully he'll be looked after and seen driving around the Middlesbrough area.
Aside, I'm selling some left over gauges.
£20 each

Sold!
Well the mightly Glen sold on Tuesday, to a Chap on the 480 Owners Club. I had to sell it because my commute was starting to get tiring riding along on 40mm lowering springs, and uprated Sachs dampers.
Replaced with.... 306 Turbo Diesel, No fun, just a lot of nice / smoke :(

Economy of a 480.
I drove this morning to work, 55Miles of A Road, and decided to see what I could achieve economy wise, this didn't mean deliberately driving slower, it just meant not trying to race every chav that dare challenge Glen!
I managed a fairly astounding 42.8MPG! How many turbos, however old, with 127000+ miles manage 35mpg?
Impressed - indeed, sadly me and Glen will be parting company shortly, to allow me to focus on getting Vince back to his former glory. I'm looking for a cheap derv to reduce my fuel bills, although is that really possible when the 480 proves its economical as well as great fun!
Glen Current Mileage: 127102
How to get an Engine Working.....
Well I can report that Vince has taken a breath once more, after suffering his Cardiac arrest the other day.
We Checked for Spark, and all 4 Cylinders were OK.
We checked for Fuel, Fuel seemed good, after all it's not like its not ever started.
We Checked Earths, and Sensor resistances.....
Finally I consulted, the '91 Wiring Diagram (Available so handily as a PDF from 480 owners club). And discovered this.....
Some sort of diagnostic connector, that of course in our refitting had just decided need to be plugged in, go me! Unplugging it (and no video to prove it) caused it to not only run, but to run a lot smoother than it did before! Not perfect but 90% at least!
Happy, your damn right I am!

Vince is back up and running, well sort of!
No further words required.......
Shortly after the filming of this Video, Vince sadly passed away, a minute of running and he spluttered to death, failing to restart. Suspected cause of death, no bloody idea!
So yeah, after 10months of not running, hundreds of pounds on new parts, 10's of hours of my hard labour, and he rewards me with 60 bloody seconds of smooth running to die again!
Oh well :(
