..Continued
I took Glen back to the garage on the Monday morning, and left the car with them for the day. My thoughts were the ABS sensor was damaged in the process, and needed replacing. I of course wasn't going to pay. It came to the end of the day, and the car still wasn't fixed. The garage agreed to give me a loan car, and replace the sensor FOC. I eagerly awaited my Suzuki Swift.....
But instead was given this beast:
A Suziki Vitara 3Door, 1.6 PETROL! Some statisitcs of this lexus light wielding MONSTER!
An absoloute beast! In the most homosexual Red possible, I seriously didn't feel anything but a gay disco dancer bouncing down the Fosse Way, in my bright red wagon. Speed wise, I think a horse and cart would have been faster (and more metrosexual). But still, beggers cannot be choosers, and it was free! Everyone knows a hire car is fastest, but even when the engine was screaming of its 6200rpm limiter I was struggling to skin a rice pudding, let alone get up any hills. During my run it averaged 25.3mpg, appaling for a modern petrol.
I eventually got my Volvo back Thursday, with a new ABS sensor and it fully working again. I know the garage spent a fair amount of time, and the part was £80 so that'll be a lesson for them not to try change CV boots without good reason.
Still the 480 rolls on!
