12 Months MOT - Finally!

I'll admit every time I say I'm going to post more about the car, it actually never happens! But still, today's Post is a long one so It can make up for my 3 weeks of silence.

Glen's (The green one) MOT ran out on the 28th June, so on the Friday before he was booked in to get a test done, at my local garage to my work place in Cirencester, Pebley Beach Suzuki, http://www.motme.com/ who are charging £39.99 standard test ( A little cheaper than the statutory maximum of £50.35)

I dropped off in the morning, but got a phone call around midday informing me it had unfortunately failed on a few bulbs, exhaust bracket, and CV boot. After they came back with a price of £60 Labour + parts to get it through, I just said do it. Knowing full well, I didn't think the CV boot needed changing, but wasn't prepared to argue over such little money.

Anyhow the long and short of it is, that I got another phone call Friday afternoon saying they couldn't get some of the lights working (That they'd replaced bulbs on) and they hadn't done the boot yet. I drove the car back home, and arranged to drop it back Monday for a retest. Over the weekend I fixed all the light issues (dodgy Volvo electrics) and looked at the boot in question. Seemed fine to me!

Dropped it back Monday, but the garage were fairly insistent on changing the boot and charging me for it, I wasn't really prepared to argue to much, given that I was already slightly late for work. I left the car with them for the day, and didn't hear anything back, I collected the car at 5:30pm after settling my final bill and collecting my 12Months of motoring legally certificate, got into my car, turned on the ignition and started her up...

All seemed normal, apart from my ABS warning lamp was now permanently on :(

The garage had broken Glen :(

To be continued
